Products I love to share

Why do I recommend products?

I’ve never been a salesperson, not even a little bit. In my office I usually just give away things that I think would be helpful for the client to use. I keep a stash of books, tools, etc. on hand to hand them before they leave. Most of the links here are those things. The others are things I use for my own self-care, and I like them so much I thought you might want to use them, too.

Relaxercise Book

This is by far the item I share the most with my clients. Check my blog page for my long explanation, but this book is so helpful for making people feel better. It’s based on Feldenkrais’ method of movement work, which juices up the joints and activates the small muscles that our bodies forget to use when the big ones take over.

I show them how to do the exercises in Chapter 5, and tell them to do them once a day for a week. Then they can do Chapter 6 for one week, Chapter 1 for one week, and then Chapter 3 for one week. This gives them a lot of freedom in the joints in their spine, for pain reduction and increased range of motion.

Of course, if there is another chapter that is more suited to their specific needs, I can point that out as well.

Buy it, and try all of them out so you know how well they work!

Pinky Balls

I keep a box of these balls to hand out to my clients to help them with their feet, sacrum, back… you name it.

I particularly like giving it to people with foot pain of just about any kind. I show them how to place it just in front of their heel, put some weight on it, then roll it forward on their foot a little, and put some weight on it again, repeating until they reach the toes. This spreads out their metatarsals, and gives them that beautiful transverse arch they so badly need.

ChiFit Foot Roller

My Alexander Technique teacher gave me one of these and it helps so much! I roll it under my feet before I put my shoes on to go for a walk, and it makes it easier to roll through my feet when walking, which makes my whole body feel more fluid.

These are a little more expensive, so I start with the pinky balls, but if they are still struggling, I will give them one of these.

Lyte Balance Electrolytes

I keep these electrolyte powder packets in my office, in case someone needs some while they are in the treatment room. Sometimes a client comes in a little dehydrated, and this is a great way to get their tissues to soak up some water.

I keep the bottles of the liquid electrolytes on hand as well to sell to clients, and if you’re in Spokane or surrounding areas, you can skip the shipping by calling the company directly. Otherwise use the link below to keep some in your office, or share the link with your clients if they would like to order some. Clients will use something that’s convenient to grab, but they might not remember to look for it at the store the next time they go.

I love these because there is no color or sugar added—just pure electrolytes to help with hydration.

Understanding the Messages of Your Body

I loved reading this book, by Jean-Pierre Barral. It is easy reading, and it explains a lot of the emotions that go with the different organs in our body, especially when those organs are in distress and need a little TLC.

If you’re considering starting to learn Visceral Manipulation, or even if you’re just curious about how emotions relate to different parts of our bodies, give this book a read. Many of my clients have enjoyed this book.

“We become educators when we become bodyworkers. When we teach our clients how to use the resources available to them, we empower them to take charge of their own health. That is where the magic happens.”
